Thanks to this week’s reduced Ashes, Brian on bass, Tom on drums and Eddie on harmonica. Thanks to this week’s soloists who lead on some of the numbers – Steve G; Les B; Al; Tommy; Graham P; Eddie’ Brian B; Dave D; David S; Diane and Eunice and Trevor.
A bit of a different STARTIME this week, so thanks to:
- Joe accompanied by Dave D with Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone originally from 1930, so not one from Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber’s latest catalogues. The song has been recorded of course by all the greats from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Willie Nelson.
- Trevor gave us a parody on Billy Joel’s Piano Man. Very well done and mentioned some infamous personalities that we might all know.
- David B gave us a Chockinfeckle Les Hilton song Over The Hill. Very good indeed.
- Dave D sang an excellent version of Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life. The song was first sung in 1963 by Marion Montgomery.
Next week I’m on again with Margo. Set list attached.
This Thursday it’s Diane and Dave’s session at the Crown, New Springs, an extra session because of a 5 week month and to bring things into line. Diane will not however be there, she’ll probably be off somewhere drinking her slimming prosecco.
