Thanks to this week’s resident Ashes – Eddie on harmonica, Tom on percussion, Brendan on drums and nice to see him back Ken on bass.
Thanks to those who stepped up and lead on some of the numbers – Les B, Dave D, Eddie, Mark, Trevor, Al, Margo, Anne, Brendan, Carole, Donna and Betty. Thanks to Anne, Margo Donna and Carole who were Running BareBear.
And the Bad Boys with How Come.
Some very good renditions in STARTIME this week, so thanks for their excellent efforts to
- Al who sang Marmalade’s Reflections of My Life (1969). Some good ukulele work on this one.
- Carole who gave us Rod Stewart’s A Reason To Believe (1971), actually the A side to Maggie May. The song was written and recorded in 1965 by Tim Hardin.
- Dave D sang one which should be in our library, Sting’s Fields of Gold from his Ten Summoner’s Tales album (1993). I always thought Sting had written the song, but I find it was actually written by Michael Bolton. Eva Cassidy did an excellent version in 1996.
- Trevor reprised a song we did earlier the Plain White T’s Hey There Delilah (2005)
Next week it’s Margo and Dave Shotliff (if he’s well enough), if not it could be me. Set List later.
This Thursday it’s Diane and Dave evening at the Crown, New Springs.
