Thanks to the Ashes for this week – Brian on bass, Eddie on harmonica, Tom on percussion and Brendan plus Margo and Diane on drums. Thanks to this week’s soloists on some of the numbers – Eddie, Mark, Bernard, Joe, Donna, Betty, Diane and Margo.
STARTIME this week – No Gilbert and Sullivan (Les B is in Jersey, and very nice it looks too), and there was a danger of no Jim Reeves, but Joe saved the day by doing He’ll Have To Go later.
- Eddie gave us Bob Dylan’s I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight (1967)
- Joe sang, with some Les B technical difficulties, You Made Me Love You, he didn’t want to do it! Sung by many, famously Al Jolson, but also Judy Garland, Patsy Cline and Nat King Cole.
- Les H, starving but performed well on Waylon Jennings’ Lonesome, On’ry and Mean (1973)
Next Week, and it seems not too long ago they were last on, it’s the turn of the Davies’. Set List later. I’ve re-jigged the Leader’s List a little, because Diane advised me that the girls would like to do a Hallow’een evening again. So I’ve put this in for 1 November, as the nearest date.
It’s worth having a close look at the rota, as it was getting a little out of kilter because of holiday changes. If there are any problems with dates let me know soonest and we can sort out.
