I know there was request to wear something feminine, but Steve Gilmour made it look like a meeting of the local LGBT Club, and he looked so comfortable. Thanks to Carole for MCing and Diane for scrolling, and to the following for their willingness to lead on some of the songs – Tom the Pink; Jo geegirl; Ernie; Trevor (washed his vest with his red jamas); Dave D; Slim Eddie Whitman with Donna (Indian Love Call and Rosemary); all the squaws – Joy, Eunice, Sophie, Mary, Jo, Gillian; Les B who now lives next door to Alice (whoever she is?); Steve G; Graham P; Donna; Joe Fanlight; Joykele Lady; Carole, Donna and Betty; Brendan; Les H and Sophie.
Didn’t manage to see much of the choreography, my eyes being glued to the screen for the next chord, but we shall see it all when the epic video of the evening is produced. Thanks VM to David B for all the interlude clips and for saving a record of the night, currently being sent to the British Board of Film Classification for a certificate.
We managed to squeeze in a STARTIME, so it’s thanks to:
- Joe with Dave who gave us Ray Price’s My Shoes Keep Walking Back to You.
- Lee sang a rare Chuck Berry number Tulane (1970). His first record on his return to the Chess label after some years at Mercury.
- Joy and Graham then gave us an excellent version of Norah Jones’ Don’t Know Why, from her Come Away With Me 2002 album.
Next week it’s the turn of the two Graham’s. Set list later. Please see attached updated Leaders’ List.
