Some famous faces missing, but we still had another of those great nights, thanks to Brian for choosing the set and leading and Graham K / Eric for scrolling. Eric was a busy man earlier in the evening in the rag trade.
Thanks to this week’s Ashes Brendan on drums, Tom on percussion, Eddie on harmonica and Dave D on bass. Brian B also did extremely well on lead ukulele. Thanks also to this week’s soloists – Mark; Graham P; Eddie; Dave D; Brendan; Steve G; Anne and Lee.
A bit of culture in this week’s STARTIME – Gilbert and Sullivan and Lee with opera.
- Eddie with Bob Dylan’s Rambin’ Gambin’ Willy, another from Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, a song about Wild Bill Hickock and his life as a gambler.
- Dave D gave us the Kingmen’s Louie Louie (1963)
- Lee gave us a song about being ready to rock and roll and include the words Verdi, and a falsetto intro. But I can’t find the song, beat me this time Someone will tell me!
- Les B and Graham P became the Ruler’s of the Queen’s Navy, with When I Was A Lad from HMS Pinafore.
This week it’s Diane and Dave do at The Crown, New Springs.
Due to holiday arrangements have swopped Brian and Eric’s 18th October venue, with Steve and Trevor.
Found – at the end of the night whilst tidying away a Fender Tuner. Will be available next week, but please advise if it’s yours.
