A full house last night, and a great atmosphere. I didn't do much strumming myself, as I was busy with the scrolling,
however, I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Dave Davies for putting together another good music selection, including some new stuff. Thanks to all who assisted leading the songs - most press-ganged rather than volunteered, but all did excellently - Al Cross; Carole; Eunice and Diane (sitting in the back seat) Les Bond; Trevor; Les Harris; Ian; Brendan; Steve McG and Eddie.
Nearly a full set of Ashes - Brian on drums, Eddie on harmonica, and good to have Brain back onbass. Thanks lads for the accompaniment.
Thanks to Les H Jagger with a new number I'm a King Bee A Rolling Stones number (of course) re-worked from the Slim Harpo original but if you're really into R&B try the Stone Foxes version
Eddie with Hank Williams' Cold Cold Heart
Carole with the Everlys' Walk Right Back - it's proving a popular number
And what can we say about the outing of a very possible Club Song - thanks to Les Bond for re-working Bad Moon Rising - with apologies to Creedance Clearwater Revival. Good starting performance by Les assisted by Dave D. It worked really well.
If members have contact with any of the persons on our waiting list, please mention to them about going to Diane's Do at the Crown, New Springs on this Thursday night. Usually well attended by many of our group. There is always the possibility, if they live near enough, of going to the Leigh U3A group with myself, Brian B and Les H every Monday morning at 10:30 Leigh Miner's Institute. We could possibly use a bit of help occasionally, as with a few new players recently, the group
is quite mixed ability at present. I would think, subject to confirmation, that group running at Upholland U3S with Graham Porter also has a waiting list. That's understandably very popular.
The following has been received on our website contact page, if of interest to anyone.
