Quite a few regular, familiar and famous faces missing to-night, see you next time.
Thanks to those who supported by leading the singing on many of the numbers – Brendan; Joy; Carole; Graham K ; Trevor; Al Cross and Eddie. And to Tom for the opening Club song.
The support band of Brian on drums; Brian on bass; Tom on percussion and Eddie on harmonica were great again.
Big hand to The Ashes.
It was a bit of a Bad Boys SHOWTIME. Great stuff from Eric supported by Steve McG with When You’re Holding a Hammer (everything looks like a nail). Actually an anti-Obama song. One of the co-writers got sacked from his teaching job for penning it. Steve McGreavey, on his ownsome, with Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs’ Little Red Riding Hood. Scary stuff, especially the howls. Al Cross with The Eagles Hotel California. A very good performance. Eddie with the Dubliners’ Night Visiting Song.
Next week it’s Margo and Dave Shotliff. Will e-mail all later with a song list and information.
A few gaps in the Session Leader's List . Let me know.
Sorry I won’t be there next time, away visiting friends down South, but have a great time. Will try to arrange for someone else to order and pick up some sandwiches.
Last, but not least, this Thursday, it’s Diane’s night at the Crown, New Springs – again have a great time.
The winning joke from this year's Edinburgh Fringe:
"I've deleted all my German contacts on my mobile phone. It's now Hans free".
