How many ukulele players does it take to change a projector bulb? Answer at least 3, one to change the light bulb, and two to strum an appropriate song. We even had a Commissioning Engineer to sign it off – thanks Lee.
Thanks to this week’s accompanying Ashes – Brendan on drums, Tom on percussion, Dave D on drums and Eddie on harmonica. Thanks to those who stepped up and lead on some of the numbers, Jo D, Eddie, Mark, Joe, Graham P, Ernie, Steve McG – this week’s girls who wanted to be Bobby’s Girl – Jo, Joy, Eunice, Donna, Gillian and Jackie, Eric, Dave D and Brenda. Also Donna who played some mean maracas with Pat Boone down at the cantina.
Excellent STARTIME once again, so it’s thanks to:
- David Brindley accompanied by Graham who pushed and pulled it with Val Doonican’s Paddy McGinty’s Goat (1964).
- Steve Mc who, when marimba rhythm started to play, sang Dean Martin’s Sway (1954).
- Joe B and Dave D (but again mainly Joe) with Nat Kiing Cole’s L.O.V.E (1965)
- Joy and Graham sang Mama Cass’s Dream A Little Dream Of Me (1968). Originally composed in 1931, the song has been recorded by many, more recently by Robbie Williams, who sang it with Lily Allen on the album version, but on his own on the single release.
Next week it’s the turn of Dave and Lee, set list later.
I noticed from the programme we had down a potential Independence Day themed evening, but if there is no one to run it (come on girls) we’ll miss out of the running list.
Could all come up with suitable songs for the playlist – eg I Wanna Break Free. Etc
